This town was really created from the curious needs of the two World Wars. Once a small Spa location conveniently located between Lisbon and Cascais, it became a prime location for European royal exiles forced to leave their own countries.
Owing to a Mediterranean type microclimate, the Estoril Coast has mild winters and an ideal summer temperature which never gets too hot. The autumn is ideal and is like a second spring. Beaches on the Estoril Coast face south in a continuous line from the Tagus estuary and are known for their calm waters and fine sand. All modern facilities are available - changing rooms, beach tents, shades, restaurants, bars and so on.
All over the years were also created several Golf courses along Estoril Coast. |
